Day 14 - October Tour - Texas morning

Good morning -
Writing today from a usual road stop in Amarillo - the Starbucks on I-40 on the east side of town. The people are nice here and I almost always stop in when I'm passing through this way.
The drive out of Nashville was all right - as I continued west I saw a bald eagle flying across the road. I'm taking that as a good sign. When I got to Arkansas it started raining and carried on like that for a while.
I stopped to eat just east of Oklahoma City - and wish I hadn't have stopped - it wasn't good - and i was really looking forward to catfish - oh well. I continued until a rest stop right before the Texas border at about 2am. I put the seat back, pulled a blanket over me and crashed out for a few hours.
After a bit of a delay I kept on moving westward and now, after a few more moments, I'm going to keep moving.
Tonight I'll be playing in Albuquerque at the Zinc Wine Bar/Cellar from 8 to 11pm. Looking forward to being in the Southwest again.

Jeremiah

Day 13 - October Tour - heading west

Hello - So it's been a very busy week - running around Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri. We had a 22 hour day on Thursday which we barely made it through - thank god for the coffee. But today I start part 2 of the tour - I head back to the west, leaving Nashville which has been the home base for part 1. The weather at first was warm and humid, but the other night fall finally showed up and cooled everything off - and it was great. I'm a little sad to be leaving
Next up are shows in the Southwest - New Mexico for 4 nights and Flagstaff, AZ for 1. I'm looking forward to playing back over there and hoping the driving goes smoothly. It's just under 20 hours to go from Nashville to Albuquerque - where the first show is on Tuesday night at the Zinc Wine bar.
I'm already looking forward to coming back - I have to start booking things soon to get a good schedule and into some venues I wasn't able too this time due to the place already being booked. I'm hoping Mikaela can join me again - we had a good time and just like before complemented each other well - I thought.
I have quite a few pictures saved up over the past week - so I'll post them -

Day 6 - October Tour - (Outside Chicago)

Yesterday I made the drive from Nashville up to Chicago. The road goes from Tennessee to Kentucky through Indiana and on into Illinois and the big city of Chicago. It was an easy drive and the road was surrounded by fall colors.
The gig lat night was in Wrigleyville - right down the street from Wrigley Field - and due to it being a holiday today, a lot of people were out and about. Unfortunately, we didn't have a big crowd at the show - 3 out of towners - one from New York, one from Seattle, and me from Los Angeles but it was a good night of music and it was cool to make some new connections and it would be nice to meet up again somewhere out on the roads.
I stayed with my cousin who lives out in the west suburbs - right between Aurora and Naperville - I got a little turned around on my way over there - I was relying too much on my phone map and I think if I would have just driven in I would have found it easily - but I had to call and ask for directions. I did all right for not being here in over 2 years.
In a few minutes I head back to Nashville where Mikaela and I will be playing tomorrow night at The Basement for New Faces Night. It's a great venue and I'm looking forward to it. We did some rehearsing yesterday and thought it sounded good - so maybe with one more run through we'll be good to go.
all right, time to wrap things up and head south -
yours truly,
Jeremiah

Day 3 - October Tour

Writing from Russellville, Arkansas today - which is just west of little Rock. I still have about 7 hours to go till Nashville - and soon I'll pack things up and get back on the road. Traveling yesterday was all right - 14 hours from Flagstaff, AZ to Oklahoma City, OK and I was happy to finally find a motel and get to sleep some - the TV was broken and it was actually a good thing or else I would have been up late.
Tomorrow morning I play in Nashville at the Southern Festival of Books. I start off the performances for the day with a 9:30AM set - then on Sunday I drive up to Chicago to play at Uncommon Ground on Clark Street in Wrigleyville - looking forward to finally playing.
So all right - it's time to get moving - after I get some photos posted.

Day 2 - October Tour

Good Morning - I'm starting things off today here at Macy's Coffeehouse in Flagstaff, Arizona. I made it easily here yesterday evening. I wanted to go farther but was a little tired from not much sleep the previous days and trying to get everything together. Here in Flagstaff I knew I had a place to stay, get some good food, do laundry that I hadn't gotten to before I left, and watch the Cardinals game.
Soon I'll be heading east - heading for Oklahoma City tonight - it's about 10 hours away - so I best get moving
Yours truly,
Jeremiah

On The Road...again

It's been a while since the last post and I apologize for the delay. The last couple months have been decently busy - a few gigs, some driving, good food, and nicely settling into my place here in Silverlake. I'm still trying to get things sorted out for a fall tour - my trip back to the UK might have to wait until the Winter but we'll see what happens.
This coming week I'll be heading out on the road for a few days - first, on Friday, I'll be heading to Cottonwood, AZ to play at the Main Stage - which is a new place in the Verde Valley and I'm looking forward to checking it out. The second show is back in Orange County on Saturday night down at Alta Coffeehouse on the Balboa Peninsula - starting at 8 to 10:30pm. Then Sunday at The Cinema Bar in Culver City - my friend Laura Jay will be starting off the night. It will be her first show and I'll be playing guitar with her. Laura writes some great melodic/Americana-ish songs and the music will start around 9pm. Then my band will hit the stage in the 10 o'clock hour.
After a couple days back at the day job then I'll head back to Arizona and play at the Flagstaff Brewing Co. on Thursday the 27th and Friday at Vino Loco from 6 to 8 which is just about a block away in the downtown area. On Saturday I'll head back to California - back to the Cinema Bar for my friend Todd Kivi's Going Away/Retirement party. It's going to be a 2 night party - Friday and Saturday - and I'm happy to be included in the show. I'll be playing on Saturday night - 9pm. After what I know will be a long night, on Sunday I head up the coast to Paso Robles to finish the month at the Paso Robles Brewing Co. 3 to 6pm that afternoon. As Always, I'm looking forward to getting on the road...again.

Photos from the road in March

Back home in LA - after driving 5,500 miles throughout March. For the most part it was a good time - some exhausting drives though - like that one across Texas. Heading up the coast was a great way to end the March Tour. I'll be back out on the road for a trip up to San Francisco at the end of this month but I'm looking forward to when I can get out for a longer stretch. For now I have these photos from the road
